MacBeth

Running from July 9th through Aug 16th, I’ll be Duncan/Porter/Seyton in 30 performances, five days a week. Union Arts Center, the recent merger of Seattle Shakespeare Company and ACT Theatre, takes on the mantle of Wooden O this year.

Till We Have Faces

Back in the SWING of things. Well, I guess not technically “swing”, since I’m covering just 2 roles, though they’re pretty hefty. Karen Lund’s new adaptation of CS Lewis’ Till We Have Faces opened at Taproot theatre last week..

Age of Sail

A staged reading of Age of Sail written by James Lyle and directed by Aidyn Stevens. Part of the FIRST DRAFT staged reading series presented by the Edmonds Driftwood Players and Driftwood After Dark. I played the part of a Napoleonic-era, British sea captain. Huzzah and all that sort of thing.

In 1815 a British navy ship encounters an alien spaceship in the South Pacific. Its captain, Pandora, demands a dialog with both the “highest” and the “lowest”—meaning the British ship’s captain, James Arkwright, and its chicken-keeper, a freedman called Jemmy Ducks.

Well, it finally happened. I officially became old enough to play Scrooge. Well, understudy him, anyway. Along with seven other characters. Yes, folks, it was Swing City for about seven weeks.

Albert’s Bridge

I played Dad and Fraser in a stage adaptation of Tom Stoppard’s 1967 radio play.

Hotter Than Egypt

I understudied the male lead in the world premiere of Hotter than Egypt at ACT. Masks were everywhere, and the cast and crew tested daily for COVID.

Last Days of the Tsars

My first foray into immersive theatre was astounding.  I suspect this is the future of theatre.

Set within the glittering, gilded final days of the Russian Empire, audiences witnessed the unraveling of the Romanov dynasty, surrounded by royals, nobles, soldiers, and servants.

Possibly the most intense role I’ve ever played.

Raw emotions run high in this intense, Olivier Award-winning two-hander, nominated for three 2016 Tony Awards including Best Revival, Best Actor and Best Actress. Blackbird is a deeply complex portrayal of two people whose ruined lives are inextricably intertwined.
